Flare gun

My third and last portfolio project at The Game Assembly, an old navy flare gun. This was a fun project since I had the physical reference that I borrowed from a close friend of mine. I focused a lot at getting the materials right, and presenting the piece in an interesting way. I used a Maya/ZBrush workflow for creating the gun. All assets, except the wood material for the table, are made by me. Baked and textured in Substance 3D Painter, textures were made entirely from scratch, without the use of smart materials. Presentation was rendered in Unreal Engine 5 and the close ups in Marmoset Toolbag 4.
